This Book Is a Classic – Now, Watch As Goodnight Moon Comes Alive Onstage

For the past 72 years, families around the world have made Goodnight Moon a part of their bedtime ritual. Now, the beloved children's book comes to life on stage for a musical adventure! On Sunday, January 12th, the Denver Center’s rapidly expanding Theatre for Young Audiences program will perform Goodnight Moon, a musical adaptation of the classic 1947 children’s book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd.

As the clock strikes seven o’clock, all your favorite characters in the Great Green Room spring to life on stage: Bunny, kittens and mittens, bears and chairs, the red balloon, a (not-so-quiet) old lady, and – of course – cows jumping over the magical moon. Enjoy the surprise and delight of Bunny’s imaginative detours on the way to dreamland. In this acrobatic production, everyone will revel with Bunny in the fun of jumping cows, dancing bears, and a room that springs to life.

A musical twist on the beloved bedtime story, Goodnight Moon is truly a timeless theater experience the whole family can enjoy. Featuring whimsical music and dance, this captivating adaptation is produced as a part of the DCPA’s Theatre for Young Audiences program, which focuses on performances tailored for Pre-K through 3rd-grade audiences.

“Theatre for Young Audiences provides opportunities for our youngest audience members to experience live theatre for the first time,” Executive Director of Education Allison Watrous said. “Arts education allows children to connect their experiences to stories on stage and participate in activities designed to engage their imagination, critical thinking, and socio-emotional intelligence.”

Bring your children to their first theatre experience and spark their wonder! Tickets to Goodnight Moon are $16.00 and are available for purchase at www.denvercenter.org and the Denver Center Box Office.
