Peek into The World of an Upper-Middle Class Household During This Series of Vignettes

In the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, the family assembles daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. A mosaic of interrelated scenes creates an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species: the upper-middle-class WASP. So, unfolds The Dining Room, a play written by A.R. Gurney, directed by Jay Louden, and performed by the Evergreen Players this Saturday, November 11th at Center Stage.

Each vignette introduces a new set of people and events; the actors portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids. Each vignette introduces a new set of people and events, dovetailing swiftly and smoothly into a rich theatrical experience of compassionate humor and abundant humanity.

The cast includes Gavin Maurer, David Nofinger, Dominick Herrick, Anna Smith, Kaitlyn Althoff and Sara Woodyard. The Evergreen Players is a non-profit organization producing six shows per year in the foothills. Established in 1950, the Players' mission is to create professional quality theater to inspire, engage and entertain.
